Dr. Nilima Singh Sabharwal was born and educated in India, earning her medical degree from Bangalore Medical College in 1977. Two years later, she came to the United States and trained to become a pathologist at the University of California in San Francisco.

Since 1991, Dr. Sabharwal has been practicing Pathology at the Kaiser Permanente - Santa Teresa branch in San Jose. Her accomplishments in the medical field and her humanitarian outreach goals demonstrate her lifelong commitment to service, knowing that it takes a lot more than a wish to change the world for children in need.

From her heart, she recognizes that what is required is a 100% belief in positive energy to carry one through an idea, and in 1999, based on her dream and determined will, Home of Hope, Inc. (HOH) began. Along with her professional life and the responsibilities of Home of Hope, Nilima is also a Board Member of the Independent Development Coalition of America and DesiYou, a Global Indian Content Distribution Network.

Nilima is married to Dr. Umesh Sabharwal, a practicing allergist and rheumatologist in the Bay area, and has two adult children, Sonia and Shiv.

Poongodi Subramanyam is the Director of Business Development of Kaar Technologies, Inc. Founded in 2009, the US branch of Kaar provides SAP services to businesses and organizations. Poongodi grew up in Dindigul, Tamil Nadu, and demonstrates her interest in social work and development in India through Home of Hope as well as local organizations in Dindigul. She has been a marketing consultant for Community Leaders At Service of Society (CLASS), and plays an active role in Sevathon publicity.

Poongodi is the proud mother of two amazing children who are in college. When they were younger, she was a dedicated team leader for their extra-curricular group activities, including Tech Challenge and Destination Imagination. Her experiences and interests put her at a perfect point to get involved in Home of Hope, Inc. as Treasurer. HOH inspires her to be part of an NPO that empowers organizations doing community service on a grassroots level.

In her free time, she enjoys dancing, hiking, photography, biking and nutritious cooking.

My goal and vision is to aid in the restoration of the Rhythm of Life in orphaned and destitute children. As Project coordinator, I closely monitor the progress of each child and make sure that along with leading a well balanced life in a family environment, the children also get opportunities like education, mental health assistance, balanced nutrition and vocational training making them self sustaining adults. I am privileged to be a member of HOH and am profoundly vested in philanthropic fund raising for all our projects.

Louis Lehot is a partner and business lawyer with Foley & Lardner LLP, based in Silicon Valley, serving entrepreneurs, management teams, investors and financial sponsors with legal strategies and solutions that make sense. Louis has been a two-time faculty member of Stanford Director's College, an advisory board member of the Silicon Valley Directors' Exchange and a member of Boston College Law School's Business Advisory Counsel. I continue to stay connected with my social goals and take my purpose to the technology companies that I have been a part of throughout my career, Accenture, Netscape, AOL, Salesforce and Adobe. Those who know me know that this aspect of my whole being is a big part of my identity and if I can make a difference to even one child by introducing children to careers in STEM and STEAM areas, providing mentorship to women early in their careers, and volunteering hours of my time to Girls Who Code and Grace Hopper. I consider it an honor.

Twenty years ago I was inspired by Dr. Nilima Sabharwal who founded HOH - a simple cause that met my passion, helping orphan children get an education, care and knowing someone cared. I did for this "no-fluff" organization what I do best, technology and process. I created databases, tracked funding, and captured profiles of students to show where and how these donations were helping. A few years in, I learned a valuable lesson that charity begins at home. Working full time, mom of a toddler, wife, daughter/in-law, and another tot on the way, I couldn't have it all at once but knew I would come back.

It's 2020 and I'm back with the same passion to this 100% volunteer run organization as a member of the Board, with a simple mission that aligns with my personal, "Providing educational opportunities to empower disadvantaged and underprivileged children to become self-sustaining adults of tomorrow."

Rajesh Relan serves as a Web/Art Director for a national Publication, 'Home Care For YOU' and a Home Healthcare Company, 'Nightingale Home Healthcare'. He is the founder of Creative Impressions. He was instrumental in the development of various User Interface projects with VeriSign and Bobcat of Fargo, and also the lead web designer for the KLM Royal Dutch Airlines Asia website. Rajesh also served as the Creative Director for ecode.com, an online identity company.

Rajesh strongly believes in enabling the disadvantaged be an integral part of the society. Rajesh brings to Home of Hope extensive experience in graphic design and web development. He has successfully combined his professional intellect and his philanthropic interests by contributing to the collateral and online presence of various non-profits. Rajesh’s history with Home of Hope starts from 1997 when he served as the chairperson for the outreach committee, helping with the collateral, web and multiple marketing efforts. he has been on the board since 2002 and served as the president from 2014-2015. He has been supporting various non-profit organizations to success.

He single handedly handled all the creatives including print and web for two successive fund raisers for American India Foundation, www.aif.org, where more than one million dollars were raised each time. For this he was awarded as the National Volunteer of the Year. He also supports Respond Foundation, a non-profit based in India, helping upcoming Artists form an Identity in the market place, and the local chapter of Red Cross(Palo Alto, CA) for their fundraisers.

Neeti Sandhu is a business professional who has specialized in residential real estate for the past 17 years. She is well respected by her clients and peers for her sales and people skills as well as her ability to work through difficult negotiations. In the past, she has also run her own import/export business specializing in antique furniture, where she gained valuable experience working with various business entities. Neeti holds a master's degree in English Literature as well as a Bachelors in Economics and Sociology.

From a very young age, Neeti has been involved in various social causes, including helping children in orphanages in India. After she moved to the US, her desire to give back to her roots became even more compelling and she started looking for ways to help. Home of Hope gave her the perfect platform to continue her service. She currently serves as the project coordinator for Mijwan, an HOH project located in a remote village in eastern U.P. which helps empower girls/women by providing free education, vocational training in technology and various other fields to make them self-reliant.

Rita Sharma has a degree in Economics and Risk Management and runs Sharma Insurance Agency. She grew up in Malaysia where her parents strongly believed in community service and took on leadership roles in the community.

Rita studied at Welhams and Lady Shriram College in India where making a difference at local NGOs was encouraged. Although she has been a supporter of HOH since it began, she became more actively engaged when Saidham, a project she proposed, was added to the portfolio. Rita strongly believes education is the only avenue to opportunities and change in the lives of disadvantaged kids.

Rita is also a member of the Advisory Board of the South Asian Heart Center and has been an active volunteer since its inception. She has a keen interest in Vedanta and is involved with the Chinmaya Mission. She is passionate about her family and friends and loves to involve them in all her projects.

Annie Dandavati is the founder of The Dandavati Law Group, a firm specializing in Civil Litigation and Estate Planning in San Jose, CA. Annie is a member of the State Bar of California, and is licensed to practice in California courts of law and the United States District Court, Northern District of California. In addition to her role as HOH board member and legal counsel, Annie currently serves on the Board of Trustees for Lincoln Law School. She previously served on the Board of Directors for the Santa Clara County Trial Lawyers Association and the Board of Governors for Consumer Attorneys of California. Annie has a twenty-plus year history of community service and involvement. She has served as a two-term chairperson of the SCC Commission on the Status of Women, SCC Domestic Violence Council, City of San Jose MWDBE Commission, and Volunteer Director of the Indo-American Senior Program. Annie is a Senior Fellow of the American Leadership Forum and a Founding Director of Coalition 2001- Celebration of Unity in Diversity, dubbed by the SJ Mercury News as "a powerful civil watchdog group." Annie has been the recipient of numerous awards, including the Soroptimist International - Women of Distinction, Community Warrior Award, Martin Luther King Good Neighbor Award, and the Santa Clara County Human Relations award.

Outside of her busy law practice and community service, Annie enjoys traveling and hiking.

Sangeeta Relan was born and brought up in New Delhi, India. She earned her BS in Mathematics and MS in Computer Science from Delhi University. She worked in India for few years before transitioning to the Silicon Valley in 1994. Since then, Sangeeta has been completely dedicated to the technology world, her family and serving the underprivileged.

Professionally, Sangeeta works as VP, Engineering, at Nutanix where she heads up Cloud Engineering & Operations, leading global & diverse talent working towards high quality product delivery.

Sangeeta is married to Rajesh Relan(serving HOH since 1999), and is proud of raising her children (Parth Relan, Nandini Relan) as compassionate individuals, who are equally committed to make a positive difference in others' lives.

Sangeeta cares deeply about equality and education for all. Home of Hope gives her a platform to make a difference to the lives of under-privileged children in those domains. Over the years, she has served in various roles - Registration Process Owner for annual gala, Operations Manager, Treasurer, PCO for Pingalwara(sign-language based education to the hearing-impaired children in the rural & poor areas in Punjab, India).

Currently, Sangeeta is actively working towards launching local programs in the US.

Pat is a cybersecurity professional specializing in information security audit and compliance. She works at Juniper Networks, leading the Global IT audit team.

Pat started her career as a CPA and practiced financial audits and taxation which included Corporations, Trusts, Individuals and Non-profits.

She has served on several boards prominent among them, independent school board, the Ohio Ballet and Summit County Public libraries, providing budget balancing and other financial advice for twenty regional libraries in Ohio. In her spare time Pat likes to indulge in gardening, cooking and, in the company of her husband goes biking, hiking, skiing and traveling. She loves to spend time chatting with her three children and four grandchildren and visiting them when time permits.

Renuka Pandit is a seasoned customer service/sales professional, having worked in different industries for last 20 years. Currently working at Sony Playstation she is experienced in building relationships with customers and partners, leading activities within various business units. She has strong work ethic and a keen interest in expanding her knowledge/skills to include volunteer work which is what brought her to the Home of Hope family.

As a passionate activist for women's causes and with a strong desire to uplift and empower girls to see their rightful place in life, Renuka found an affinity with the HOH Mission and contributes as a Board Member and Secretary.

A dedicated and proud mother and grandmother, Renuka believes families are the most important thing in one's life and is committed to the cause of seeing every child and adult get a rightful chance to grow and love unfettered within the strong bonds of family life.

Mr. Kanwar Chadha serves as Marketing Advisor of Infrastructure at Facebook. Mr. Chadha served as Vice President of Strategic Corporate Initiatives Corporate Marketing of CSR Technology Holdings Inc. since February 2009 and also served as its Secretary. Mr. Chadha served as Chief Marketing Officer at CSR plc. He was one of CSR Technology Holdings Inc.'s founders and served as the Vice President of Marketing from February 1995 to February 2009. Prior to founding SiRF, he served as Director of Strategic Marketing and as General Manager of the Multimedia Group at S3 from October 1992 to January 1995, where he led the development of innovative audio and video processing technologies. He co-founded AQuesT, Inc. He served as Vice President of Marketing at Sirf Technology Inc. since February 1995. From April 1992 to September 1992, he was a management consultant with S3 and Arcus Technology. From October 1983 to September 1989, Mr. Chadha served in various marketing management positions, including Product Line Manager for Coprocessors and i860 RISC Processors, of Intel Corporation. Mr. Chadha holds a B.Tech in electrical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi, an M.S. in Computer Information Systems from the University of Pennsylvania, and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.

Atiq Raza is the Chairman & CEO of Virsec Systems, Inc. Atiq is an industry veteran and has been working in engineering leadership and senior management positions for the past thirty-two years.

He was the founder, Chairman and CEO of RMI which was acquired by NetLogic which in turn was acquired by Broadcom on the strength of the RMI processor. Earlier, Atiq was Chairman and CEO of NexGen, the first company to challenge Intel in microprocessors. NexGen became a public company and was subsequently acquired by AMD. Atiq became the President and COO of AMD and served on its Board of Directors.

Atiq holds a bachelor's degree in Physics from Punjab University, a B.S. with Honors in Electrical Engineering from the University of London, and an M.S. degree in Materials Science & Engineering from Stanford University.

Kartik Jaggi is a Senior Manager of Data Center & Cloud Operations at Apple, Inc. Kartik grew up in New Delhi, India and is a Project Coordinator for Koshish in the city he grew up in. Kartik believes in the concept of giving back to society that we receive so much from. Empowering and enabling children who live on the fringe of society and helping them improve their lives via education is a goal that he would like to pursue for as long as possible.

Kartik has watched HoH grow from humble beginnings and committed to becoming a PCO for Koshish when a position became available in 2010. The Koshish team does a valiant job in educating underprivileged children in a school that is surrounded by a landfill and an open sewage drain and he believes that these teachers are the real hero's who should receive all the accolades and the spotlight should be on them for their tireless work and devotion towards a noble cause.

While the world around them fusses over the latest and greatest gadgets, these teachers just go on about their business in unrelenting heat and often demanding circumstances.

Mini Jande's background is in corporate finance and currently she works at Oracle, a leading technology firm. Mini manages P&L for about $150 Million in revenue for Oracle's North America service business. Prior to Oracle, Mini was at Charles Schwab for 11 years, a leading investment management firm. She has extensive experience in the field of Corporate governance, compliance and managing various regulatory committees. In her current and prior roles, Mini has been instrumental in developing and implementing process improvements and controls. Her education includes a BA with concentration in Finance and an MBA in Corporate Finance from the University of Miami.

Mini is a passionate advocate of Girls education in the developing world and firmly believes that educating girls can eliminate cycles of poverty. Mini is a Girl Rising regional ambassador. She also actively participates in the EEP program as a teacher.

I love children and have the ability to connect at all levels with them, HOH has given me this opportunity and I really admire the organization and all the work they have done to alleviate the gender discrimination.

Rajesh Bhatia is Director of Engineering at Adobe where he develops technology for Marketers and Advertisers to manage their Media and Spend. Rajesh grew up in a 13 member joint family under a single roof which teaches love , respect and sacrifice right from childhood. Rajesh moved to bay area in 1993 to work for technology start up founded at Stanford university, later he went on create his own start up which was acquired by BizRate/Scripps Networks. Rajesh has keen desire to help social and economically challenged students to achieve a undergraduate or masters degree. Currently Rajesh is a coordinator of Sunder Shewak Sabha Project at HoH which provides education funds to poor kids of low income families. In free time , he enjoys playing golf , running , biking and hiking.

MP Singh is the Founder, Creative director and the lead photographer at MP Singh Photography. He lives in the Bay area with mhis beautiful wife Priya. He loves Bollywood and Hollywood movies, spicy food, hiking and travel. After working with some of the top Fortune 100 companies, he bid adieu to his corporate job to delve full time into wedding photography.
