Core Focus of the Project:

The mission of the program is to equip vulnerable youth with professional and digital skills, preparing them forsustainable livelihoods and economic independence.

Key highlights include:

  • Vocational Training: Courses in tailoring, hospitality, and other market-oriented trades
  • IT & Digital Skills: Training in Microsoft Office, basic programming, and IT tools to ensure digital literacy
  • Life Skills & Employability: Soft skills, communication, and workplace readiness
  • Holistic Support: Guidance in career planning, job placement, and mentorship

HOH Partnership: When & Why

HOH partnered with Udayan Ghar in 2000 to strengthen skill-building opportunities for children and youth in care. Recognizing that education alone is not enough for economic empowerment, HOH aimed to provide funding, infrastructure, and mentorship for vocational and IT training programs that prepare youth for meaningful employment.

Impact of HOH Support

HOH’s support has yielded significant outcomes:

  • 1,200+ youth trained in vocational trades and IT skills since inception
  • 100% of graduates received guidance for employment or higher studies
  • Enhanced confidence, self-reliance, and digital literacy among beneficiaries
  • Partnerships with local businesses and NGOs have facilitated job placements and apprenticeships

Vision for the Next Five Years

Over the next five years, the project aims to:

  • Expand vocational and IT courses to cover emerging skills such as AI, digital marketing, and advanced IT tools
  • Increase the number of youth trained annually to 1,000+ beneficiaries
  • Establish industry partnerships for internships and placements
  • Integrate blended learning models, combining classroom, online, and project-based learning
  • Strengthen mentorship and career guidance to ensure long-term professional growth
